Portland police have arrested a 37-year-old man after multiple reports of harassment and stalking involving female students near Portland Community College’s Southeast Campus. According to police statements reported by KPTV, the suspect, identified as Abdiwahid Dahir Yusuf, was taken into custody following a series of complaints concentrated around the bus stop at SE 82nd Avenue and SE Division Street.

Police reported that one woman said Yusuf grabbed her wrist after she stepped off a bus, releasing her only after she demanded he stop. She also reported a separate encounter in which he approached her on campus. At least three other incidents were documented in recent weeks involving a man matching the same description.

Portland Community College leadership issued several safety alerts throughout the month, warning students about a “suspicious person” who had been repeatedly approaching and following women near the Southeast Campus. These alerts described unwanted contact, unsolicited sexual comments, and attempts to corner individuals at the bus stop.

According to court documents, Yusuf faces two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, interfering with public transportation, and harassment. He had previously been released on bail in December 2025 for unrelated charges, but his conditional release has now been revoked.

Students who rely on public transportation near the campus say the repeated incidents have heightened concerns about personal safety. Portland Police and TriMet Security have been coordinating responses, and PCC has increased public safety patrols in the surrounding area.
