LONGVIEW — Douglas Gene Henderson, a lifelong Longview resident known for his steady presence and decades of work in the regional pulp and paper industry, passed away on February 14, 2026, at age 74, according to the obituary published by Classic Hits 100.7 KLOG.

Henderson was born in Longview on July 25, 1951, and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1969. He built a long career as a railroad conductor serving industrial operations in the area, a role that placed him squarely within one of Cowlitz County’s foundational economic sectors. Colleagues and family remembered him as dedicated, even‑tempered, and consistently reliable.

Outside of work, Henderson was known for his easy warmth and the friendships he maintained across decades. He spent much of his free time golfing or traveling by motorcycle, often alongside his wife, Tina. The two shared a love of long rides and new routes, a pastime that connected them with communities across the region and beyond.

Henderson is survived by his wife Tina, his son Edward, his daughter Peggy, and a large extended family of grandchildren and great‑grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Audrey, his sister Linda, and his son Chad.
