Coal Creek Road near Longview is closed this morning after a fallen tree brought down a power line, according to an early update from the Cowlitz County Department of Public Works. Crews reported around 6:20 a.m. that the closure affects the stretch between Tanglewood Drive and Woodside Drive.

Drivers are being directed to detour via Carlon Loop while the tree and power line are cleared. Public Works has not yet indicated when the roadway is expected to reopen.

The Longview School District noted that bus routes 20 and 27 could face delays due to the closure and said updates would be shared with families if route times change significantly.

No injuries have been reported, and county crews are working alongside utility staff to restore access and power to the area.
