The Washington State Patrol has activated a Silver Alert for 80‑year‑old James “Monty” Gorley of Castle Rock, who was reported missing after failing to return home on Sunday.
Authorities say Gorley left for church around 8:30 a.m. yesterday but never arrived. His family reported him missing later that evening when he did not come home as expected. Investigators believe Gorley may be disoriented or otherwise unable to find his way home unaided, and his cell phone is currently turned off.
Gorley is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 195 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a red and white sweatshirt over a gray turtleneck, blue jeans, and brown boots. He was driving a silver 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup bearing Washington license plate C40855B.
Anyone who spots Gorley or his vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately. The Silver Alert remains active as of Monday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.
