Seattle Police arrested an 18-year-old man Sunday evening following a drive-by shooting in the South Seattle area, according to a statement from the Seattle Police Department.

Police said officers responded to reports of gunfire near the 3000 block of South Brighton Street. A police sergeant located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s car soon after. When officers attempted a stop, the driver allegedly fled at high speed, leading police on a short pursuit through the New Holly neighborhood toward Beacon Avenue South and South Webster Street.

The suspect eventually pulled over and was taken into custody without further incident. Officers said they found shell casings inside the vehicle and believe the firearm used in the shooting may also be inside. The vehicle was transported to the department’s Vehicle Processing Room for further investigation.

No injuries or property damage were reported in connection with the incident. The man was booked into King County Jail on suspicion of drive-by shooting and attempting to elude police.
