A fallen tree has closed a section of Coal Creek Road between Tanglewood Drive and Woodside Drive this morning, according to a post from the Cowlitz County Department of Public Works around 6:20 a.m. The department said a power line came down with the tree, blocking both lanes of traffic.

Officials advised motorists to detour via Carlon Loop until the obstruction is cleared. No injuries were reported early Monday, but crews are working to remove the debris and repair the damaged line.

The Longview School District announced that bus routes 20 and 27 may experience delays as a result of the closure. The district said it would notify parents directly if route times are significantly affected.

This is a developing situation and updates are expected from both the county and utility crews as the roadway is cleared and service restored.
