Longview Schedules March 26 Hearing on Board of Adjustment Meeting Policy Change

The Longview City Council will hold a public hearing later this month on a proposed amendment to Section 19.12 of the Longview Municipal Code, according to an official notice posted by the City of Longview at its Civic Alerts page. The hearing is set for March 26, 2026, during the council’s regular 6:00 p.m. meeting.

The proposed change would allow the chair of the Board of Adjustment to cancel regular meetings when there are no pending items requiring action. According to the city’s notice, the goal of the amendment is to formally codify a process that prevents unnecessary meetings when the board has no business before it.

The hearing will take place in the City Hall Council Chambers at 1525 Broadway Street in Longview. The city stated that the meeting will also be streamed through Zoom, with access available through the published webinar link. Virtual participants may comment after registering with the City Clerk prior to the hearing. The city notes that written public comments may also be submitted in advance by email to the City Clerk’s Office with “Public Comment” in the subject line.

According to the notice, City Hall is accessible to people with disabilities, with assistive equipment available for attendees who are hearing impaired. Those needing accommodations are asked to contact the City Executive Office at least 48 hours before the meeting.
