The ramp connecting southbound Interstate 5 to southbound Interstate 205 at Exit 7 in Vancouver closed for the weekend of July 31 to August 2. According to reporting by Clark County Today, the closure allowed crews to complete lane striping, sign installation, and guardrail work. This project marked the final full closure of the exit for this specific work.

The closure began at 10 p.m. Friday, July 31, and concluded by 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2. During this window, all southbound lanes of I-205 were closed between the I-5/I-205 split and Exit 36 for Northeast 134th Street. The Washington State Department of Transportation contractor, Kerr Contractors Oregon, LLC, utilized the full closure to finish the project more quickly and minimize the long-term impact on Clark County commuters.

While the main connection from I-5 was closed, the on-ramp from Northeast 134th Street to southbound I-205 remained open. All lanes and ramps on southbound I-205 located south of the Northeast 134th Street interchange also remained open to traffic throughout the weekend.

To manage safety during the work, the nighttime speed limit on southbound I-5 through the work zone was reduced from 70 mph to 55 mph. Crews also deployed a queue warning system ahead of the work zone to alert drivers of slowing or stopped traffic, a measure intended to reduce the risk of rear-end collisions. WSDOT officials had recommended that travelers use alternative routes for the duration of the project.
